Water Management
More and more countries are facing water problems: extreme droughts, but also floods, with major humanitarian and economic consequences. Water is part of the fabric of global social issues, such as water safety, water quality, sanitation, food and power generation. Many of these countries are not well prepared for a future full of water insecurity and require future-proof management of water systems and (nature) areas.
The Dutch have learnt how to protect the country, making it a safer place to live, while securing economic and social welfare without compromising the sustainability of vital ecosystems. The Netherlands has put water management in order by investing and continuously improving the level of knowledge, making it an international leader in the field of water. Our water management takes a prevention and integrated approach and looking at water challenges from a different perspective, which are essential to designing suitable solutions that fit local circumstances.
With the strong water tradition and extensive knowledge and experience in this field, Dutch companies are a strong partner to find solutions throughout the world for the realization of water safety and water security. This can be done with new technologies and insights, and with new forms of collaboration, in which authorities work with the market and research institutions at home and abroad.
